Calliope Shire Council Planning Scheme

The Planning Scheme consists of a written document supported by a number of maps. The written document can be viewed by expanding the Scheme Documents section below and the supporting maps can be viewed in the Scheme Maps section. Together these two components form the Calliope Shire Planning Scheme 2007, which was adopted on the 13th April and gazetted on the 27th April 2007.

The Shire is divided into 5 localities which are then divided into zones. Some localities contain areas termed key sites and some are effected by overlays. There are also Guideline Plans which provide supporting information regarding particular scheme measures.

Overview Maps

The Planning Scheme includes several maps which assist in identifying scheme measures as they apply to particular areas, but shown on a whole of Shire basis. These are known as Overview Maps.

  • Calliope Shire Key Plan - Map Sheet Reference
    This plan identifies the sheet series in which a particular site is situated. All relevant planning scheme maps applying to the site will have the same map sheet reference and thus provides a single point of reference.
  • Zone Plan - Key Plan
    This is the Key Plan for the zones which are shown in the Scheme Maps section for a particular area.
  • Shire Localities - Key Plan 
    This Plan and the following 5 locality maps, identify the boundaries and names of the Locality in which a particular site is situated.
