Current Local Laws

Under the Local Government Act 2009 (Act), Council may make and enforce any local law that is necessary or convenient for the good rule and local government of its area.  The term "local law" includes "subordinate local law".
 
Following amalgamation of the former local government areas comprising Gladstone City, Calliope Shire and Miriam Vale Shire Councils, Gladstone Regional Council made a new set of local laws replacing the local laws of those former Councils.  These local laws commenced on the 1 December 2011.
 
Since 1 December 2011, these local laws may have been amended in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
