Fixed Standpipes
Gladstone Regional Council has four fixed standpipes available for the sale of bulk water to the public. Our standpipes are all electronic key operated.
The standpipes have one connection – via a 3" female Camlock hose fitting. For ease of use, this connection is safely accessible from the ground. Customers need to bring their own coupling and hose to access water.
Fixed standpipes are located at the following sites:
Calliope
- Calliope Fixed Standpipe is located on the corner of Archay & Taragoola Roads
- Operational 24hrs
Gladstone
- Glenlyon Road Fixed Standpipe is located near Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens
- Red Rover Road Fixed Standpipe is located across from Jeff Ringland Drive
- Operational 24hrs
Mount Larcom
- Mount Larcom Fixed Standpipe is located on the corner of Balfour & Salisbury Streets
- Operational 7am to 7pm daily.

Mobile Metered Standpipes
Mobile Metered Standpipes can be used in Gladstone, Boyne Island/Tannum Sands, Mount Larcom, Calliope or Agnes Water/Seventeen-Seventy. They are not able to be used in Miriam Vale or Bororen
Mobile Metered Standpipes can be hired on a short, medium, or long term basis.

If a standpipe is hired monthly, a date-stamped photo showing the reading must be submitted. This reading is to be submitted by replying to the monthly reminder email sent to the hirer. Failure to do so will result in a penalty fee.

General Conditions
- The fixed standpipe key is not transferable to any other party and is the responsibility of the nominated approved key holder
- Water charges will be invoiced on a monthly basis
- Standpipe water is charged per kl at a different rate per Scheme. Refer Fees and Charges
- Council takes no responsibility for the quality of water after it has left the Council reticulation system. Contractors supplying clients with water for drinking purposes must have a current licence as required under the Food Act 2006
- Hirers of mobile standpipes and those taking water from fixed standpipes must comply with Council’s Terms and Conditions of Use(PDF, 135KB) and view the Safety Instructional Video/s below.
- Mobile Standpipes must not be used in the Beecher/Burua Defined Water Service Area(PDF, 955KB)
