Since our opening in 1988, the team at Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens has been committed to conserving the region's unique local flora. The Gardens’ mission is to maintain and present a native Australian Botanic Garden curating a scientific collection of regional plant species from Central Queensland (specifically Port Curtis). The Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens logo features Gladstone’s floral emblem, the Crown of Gold (Barklya syringifolia). It is characterised by its heart-shaped leaves and bright yellow fingers of flowers. The tree can be found throughout the Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens and the Gladstone Region.
