Recruitment Process Explained

1. Shortlisting

Once a position has closed, all applications are reviewed by the appointed panel members.  The panel members review the candidate’s responses to the screening questions to determine the most suitable candidates based on experience, qualifications and skills relevant to the position.

The shortlisting process can vary depending on the number of applications received and typically takes up to 2 weeks from when the position closes.

2. Interview process

The interview process helps the panel establish which candidate can best demonstrate the necessary skills, experience, knowledge and personal qualities required to perform the position. Those shortlisted will receive a phone call to attend an interview which can be facilitated face to face, over the phone or via Microsoft Teams depending on the candidates’ requirements.

Council encourages candidates to request any reasonable adjustments that may be required for the interview. The interview panel usually consists of 2 to 3 panel members who will ask a set of job specific questions relevant to the position.

If you are not shortlisted for an interview, you will be advised via email. We encourage you to regularly check your email account including your junk email.
