Council would like to advise stakeholders that the Matthew Flinders (Marina) Bridge on Bryan Jordan Drive will be undergoing essential operational maintenance, repairs, and testing on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.The bridge will be closed to all vehicular and marine vessel traffic for the duration of the works.
Air quality is an essential component for a healthy community and environment. It is important community members have access to the appropriate resources to help them better understand the issues that impact air quality.
To ensure air quality in the Gladstone Region promotes a healthy community and environment, Gladstone Regional Council participates in the Gladstone Air Quality Community Group
consists of community, industry, government and research stakeholders that meet every two months to further the group’s vision to achieve a greater understanding of air quality monitoring in the Gladstone Region.
The Clean and Healthy Air for Gladstone project was completed in 2011 by the Department of Environment and Science and Queensland Health. The final report and implementation plan are available from the Department of Environment and Science (DES) website.
The project involved an expansion on the existing ambient air monitoring program. Results were assessed to determine the level of contaminants in air emission and their actual and potential impact to human health.
