Ngallil (nar-lee-ill) Building

This building is home to Council’s Community Partnerships team, the Gladstone Region Neighbourhood Centre, the Precinct Library, and has consultation rooms that are used by various service providers.”

Council’s Community Partnerships team is the centralised contact point to access information and advice on community engagement, community investment, community development, youth development and planning, sports and recreation, Council’s Reconciliation Action Plan, Community Services Directory and Tax Help program.

Ngallil (nar-lee-ill) Building

The Gladstone Region Neighbourhood Centre offers a central point of contact for community members to gain access to information and referrals on a range of services, activities and resources including emergency relief providers, financial counselling and education, health providers, NDIS providers, substance abuse support and more.

Nutchee (na-chee) Building

The Communities for Children program supports children and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds and aims to assist parents, carers and early childhood professionals to gain access to information, resources and training.

Gumar (goo-mar) Building

The Salvation Army offers community services from the Gumar Building within the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct. The Salvation Army Gumar building includes 12 consult rooms, with seven available for hire and five dedicated to delivering the Connect, Doorways and Moneycare Program, which provides emergency relief, financial counselling, holistic case management, social inclusion programs, and faith based pathways.

The Gumar building also offers a multipurpose meeting room suitable for online and face to face meetings, workshops, training sessions, and team building activities. Flexible hire options are available for both short term and long term use.

Our consult rooms are ideal for NDIS coordinators, allied health professionals, and community service providers, offering client focused spaces designed to support collaboration and confidential service delivery.

External organisations can consult with Advisory Committee members and gain feedback on Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct related topics that could provide opportunities within their organisation and the community.

Where a person or other body wishes to consult or seek input from the Advisory Committee on a matter, a formal request must be lodged with the Committee’s secretariat, which includes a briefing note.

Officers, in consultation with the Advisory Committee, will assess the relevance and appropriateness of the request. Council officers will be the decision makers on whether the request is granted or refused.

Step 2 - Complete an Venue Hire form(PDF, 429KB) ensuring you attach all supporting documentation. Please note: if you do not receive a confirmation email please re-read the instructions before resubmitting.

Submitting an application form does not equate to an approval for a room or hall booking.

After an Expression of Interest has been assessed against the Precinct Values, a GRC staff member will be in contact regarding the outcome and/or further booking requirements.

Changes to bookings or cancellations must be submitted in writing and can be done via email or by using a Venue Booking Amendment Form.(PDF, 230KB)

Cancellation of bookings for the hire of premises may incur a fee, dependent on the amount of notice provided.

Amendments to bookings require approval.

Full or partial refund of fees is at the discretion of Council.

A security bond is required to be paid by the hirer at the time of booking as a guarantee of meeting Council conditions of hire requirements and as security against any breakages or additional cleaning resulting from hire.

A Request for Refund of Bond Form(PDF, 256KB) can be submitted later.

If there are no breach of hire conditions, bond fees will be returned within four weeks of the use of the facility.

When hosting a function or event on Council controlled land, you must have the correct public liability insurance in place.

Public liability insurance covers your function or event for any losses or damages suffered, or claimed to be suffered, by persons attending your function or event, or as a result of your function or event.

Hirers who use the venue more than 12 times within 12 months, must obtain Public Liability Insurance.

One-off or infrequent hirers are required to complete a Casual User Public Liability Insurance Form.(PDF, 188KB)
