Standpipes - Fixed and Mobile Metered

Fixed Standpipes

Gladstone Regional Council has four fixed standpipes available for sale of bulk water to the public. Our standpipes are all electronic key operated.

The standpipes have two main connections – via an overhead hose or through a 20mm connection near the base of the standpipe. For safety reasons the overhead connection is for trucks only and is not designed for other vehicles.

Residents without a truck are required to connect via the 20mm connection.

Fixed standpipes are located at the following sites:

Calliope

  • Calliope Fixed Standpipe is located on the corner of Archay & Taragoola Roads

Gladstone

  • Glenlyon Road Fixed Standpipe is located near Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens
  • Red Rover Road Fixed Standpipe is located across from Jeff Ringland Drive

Mount Larcom

  • Mount Larcom Fixed Standpipe is located on the corner of Balfour & Salisbury Streets

Mobile Metered Standpipes

Mobile Metered Standpipes can be used in Gladstone, Boyne Island/Tannum Sands, Mount Larcom, Calliope or Agnes Water/Seventeen-Seventy. They are not able to be used in Miriam Vale or Bororen

Mobile Metered Standpipes can be hired on a short, medium, or long term basis.

Please refer to the water fees and charges for further information.

If a standpipe is hired monthly, a date-stamped photo showing the reading must be submitted. This reading is to be submitted by replying to the monthly reminder email sent to the hirer. Failure to do so will result in a penalty fee.
