Unique youth festival designed by young people coming to Calliope

Calliope’s Bunting Park will kick off the September school holidays when it plays host to the Calliope Youth Fest on Saturday, 20 September.
This free, youth-led event celebrates young people aged 12-25 with a fun-filled day of activities from 10am to 2pm.
Enjoy delicious food trucks, live music from talented young performers, roving entertainment by Capricorn Coast Entertainment and plenty of other free activities including a youth makers market that will showcase our region’s talented young entrepreneurs and creatives.
Get involved with free activities like the Festival Glitter Bar with Happy Hues, face painting and balloon twisting with Luke and Kim, chalk art with Sunlit Henna and a scavenger hunt for all ages.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said that Calliope Youth Fest is not just for 12-to-25-year-olds.
“This is a family-friendly event, so bring along the whole family and connect with some great people and organisations,” Mayor Burnett said.
“Calliope Youth Fest is the perfect way to kickstart the school holidays and is proudly delivered by Gladstone Regional Council and Calliope State High School, so come and hang out, get creative, support local young talent and make some unforgettable memories.”
Mayor Burnett said another highlight of the event is the Connected Youth Café.
“The Connected Youth Café is a relaxed space for young people to hang out, connect and have a good time,” he said.
“Powered by Gladstone Neighbourhood Centre’s Connected Youth Group and supported by local youth organisations, the Connected Youth Café is created by youth, for youth, to connect, relax, and get involved in what matters to them.
“You can connect with some legendary local groups, get inspired, join fun activities and enjoy a sausage sizzle in a chilled, café-style vibe.”
