Join us for Ecofest at Tondoon on the first Sunday in June

Ecofest returns with a special guest, ABC TV’s Gardening Australia star Jerry Coleby-Williams, who will join a live Q&A session to answer the community’s pressing environmental questions.
Jerry Coleby-Williams brings a wealth of knowledge to Ecofest, stemming from decades of experience in horticulture, urban greening, and climate-resilient gardening.
Originating in 1999, Ecofest is a free, family-friendly festival promoting sustainability and ecofriendly living.
From 9am to 3pm, attendees can explore market stalls featuring locally made, environmentally conscious products, enjoy plant sales, food trucks, live music, and connect with organisations dedicated to a sustainable future.
Gladstone Region Acting Mayor Natalia Muszkat is encouraging attendees to embrace the sustainable practices they learn at Ecofest into their daily lives.
“Simple actions like reducing single-use plastics, reusing products, recycling correctly, composting, or adding a plant to your backyard can make a big difference,” Acting Mayor Muszkat said.
“Ecofest is always a well-attended event, and we look forward to hearing from Jerry and other sustainability experts from industry, science and advocacy.
“In addition to the Q&A session, Junkyard Beats will bring their high-energy crew of roving performers with them, while free face painting, KinderGym and Cooberrie Park displays will take place throughout the day.
“We also have our dedicated quiet space, Zen Zone, which is a place for people to chill out and escape the crowds.”
Parking is available at the industry carpark and Meteors Sports Ground, with free buses running from various locations throughout the day.
