Gladstone Regional Council invites the community to a planned cultural burn workshop to be held at Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct. Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Council is committed to bushfire mitigation and land management utilising First Nations land management techniques.
The burn will be conducted by Council’s First Nations Fire and Land Officer, Michael Wilmott in the presence of First Nations community members.
- Date: Wednesday, 23 October 2024
- Time: 10am to 11am
- Venue: Meet at the roundabout of Pengelly Street and Dave Burns Drive.
- Light refreshments will be provided
Attendees must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Please ensure you wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing including:
- Long sleeve shirt and pants/trousers (fire resistant is preferable)
- Safety helmet or hat
- Safety goggles/glasses
- Closed footwear - boots or trainers
- Gloves.
