In a vibrant celebration of culture and community spirit, Council is delighted to host a First Nations Community Dinner. Arrive by 5.30pm for a 6pm start Wed 16 Oct 2024 Bookings Required
This special event brings together members of our First Nations community, local leaders, and disaster resilience experts to help build unity and resilience in the face of disasters.
The goal is for First Nations community members to be better prepared to respond and recover from disasters, ultimately enhancing community resilience and safety.
The community dinner will increase participants understanding of the:
- Intrinsic strengths and unique impacts of disasters on Indigenous communities
- Importance of connection with Country
- Need for engagement with Indigenous communities in disaster preparedness and recovery planning
- Role of Indigenous community-controlled organisations in disaster preparedness, response and recovery.

- Date: 6pm to 8pm, Wednesday, 16 October 2024. Please arrive by 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
- Venue: Flavours Marina, 72 Bryan Jordan Dr, Callemondah
- RSVP's closed Wednesday 9 October, 2024
