Chipping your furry friend made easy with Discount Microchipping Day

Gladstone Regional Council will host a Discount Microchipping Day to encourage responsible pet ownership ahead of Animal Registration renewals being issued in October.
The microchipping day will be held on Thursday 29 May at the Gladstone Pound Facility on 17 Albert Street, Callemondah at a cost of only $20 per animal (cat or dog).
Appointments are in 15-minute blocks and available between 8am to 5.45pm.
Bookings and pre-payment are essential.
Call Council on 4970 0700 or visit your nearest Council Office or Transaction Centre to secure your place and make your payment prior to your appointment.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- For the safety of people and other pets, animals must be restrained on a leash or in a cage
- All animals must be aged eight weeks old and over
- Only one person per animal must attend the appointment
- No walk-ins will be accepted - pets will not be microchipped without a booking.
Gladstone Region Councillor Mellissa Holzheimer said microchipping is an essential part of responsible animal ownership.
“A microchip provides a simple solution to return your pet to you if your pet goes missing,” Councillor Holzheimer said.
“Getting your animal microchipped can reduce your animal’s annual registration fees by up to $20 per year.
“You can save up to $80 on your annual registration fees if you get your pet desexed as well.”
