Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail’s draft Master Plan out for public comment

Planning for the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail (BBIRT) has taken another step forward with Gladstone Regional Council releasing the project’s draft Master Plan for public comment.

A second stage of community engagement is now underway and everyone across the region is invited to provide feedback, building on the engagement that took place earlier in the year.

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Council was interested in hearing from community members, whether they took part in the first stage of engagement or not.

“People are invited to go online to read the Master Plan and complete a feedback survey on Council’s Conversations platform,” Councillor Burnett said.

“They can also see the previous community engagement results and read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s).

“If you are a community member interested in the Rail Trail or a potential Trail visitor, we invite you to complete our short survey on this draft Master Plan to help us improve the design.”

Council received 426 contributions during the first phase of community engagement from April to May this year, which proved to be very beneficial to the project’s development.

They included responses to online surveys, social mapping, sharing ideas on the virtual post it wall, submitting questions and/or participating on the pop-up and open houses about the Trail.

This second stage of engagement will close on Sunday 15 August with results revealed in early September.
