Free Tax Help program available for eligible residents

Gladstone Community and Neighbourhood Centre’s free Tax Help program is available to help eligible residents submit their tax return this year.
The program, facilitated by the Australian Tax Office (ATO), is run by trained tax help volunteers who can help you face-to-face, online or by phone.
Appointments are available every Thursday, commencing Thursday, 24 July, through to Thursday, 30 October 2025.
Gladstone Region Councillor Simon McClintock said residents wishing to use this service are encouraged to create a myGov account and link to the ATO via their website (www.ato.gov.au) prior to their Tax Help appointment.
“This service is available to residents earning $70,000 or less per annum, with further eligibility criteria for the program available on the ATO website,” Cr McClintock said.
“We’re always striving to deliver practical, meaningful support that makes life a little easier for our community.
“The Tax Help program, delivered from the Gladstone Community and Neighbourhood Centre, located within the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct, is a great example of that.
“If you’re ever unsure where to go or who to speak to, just walk through any door at the precinct – there’s always someone ready to point you in the right direction.”
“Bookings are essential for the Tax Help program, so please call Council’s Gladstone Community and Neighbourhood Centre on 4976 6300 or email Communities@gladstone.qld.gov.au to find out if you are eligible and to secure your appointment.”
