Investigations have revealed stagnant water, silt and sediment buildup, and breaks and cracks in sections of the existing stormwater pipeline.
Pipework condition and its ability to manage stormwater in the area has been assessed with the pipe location and proximity to the nearby conservation area considered.
The Contractor will remove a section of stormwater pipe and pit and replace with new pipe, stormwater pit and headwall. Works will include site preparation, roadworks, traffic management and road surface re-instatement.
Strict controls will be in place to ensure no disturbance occurs within the nearby Joseph Banks Conservation Park boundary.
Sewer services are not expected to be affected by these renewal works; however, this method of pipeline rehabilitation may produce minor noise disturbances, additional traffic, and possibly odour for short periods.
