Gladstone Region Show Public Holiday reminder

Gladstone Regional Council is reminding residents of the Gladstone Region Show Public Holiday date for 2025.
This year’s Gladstone Region Show Public Holiday will take place on Monday 11 August.
GRC offices, Rural Transaction Centres, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, Gladstone Regional Libraries, Gladstone Community and Neighbourhood Centre, Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) (including Box Office) and Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct will be closed, reopening on Tuesday 12 August.
Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens, Benaraby Landfill and waste transfer stations will remain open, as per regular opening hours.
Junction CAFE at Tondoon will be open from 8am-12pm.
No changes will take place to the bin collection schedule.
Residents will still be able to access all of Council’s online services, including the GECC website (gladstoneentertainment.com).
The Gladstone Region Show Public Holiday aligns with the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka), held from 9-17 August this year.
Future Gladstone Region Show Public Holiday dates will fall on:
- Monday, 10 August 2026
- Monday, 9 August 2027
- Monday, 14 August 2028.
Some schools in the North Coast region (e.g. Discovery Coast) may observe the Bundaberg Show Day as their public holiday, with dates varying by school.
