Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service QPWS) will be conducting planned burns between 14th July 2025 and the 31st July 2025, as part of the annual hazard reduction and conservation management program for parks and forests.
These burns are being undertaken to help protect life and property in the event of a wildfire. - Commencing

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Tableland Road. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.
During the planned burns, these areas may be temporarily closed or restricted to public access:
· Tableland Road
Observe all signage, barriers, and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure. To apply for a refund or camping credit, contact the online booking service at qpws@des.qld.gov.au.
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
Check Park Alerts regularly for updates on current park conditions.
Refunds can be applied for via your online account at qld.gov.au/camping.
For your safety, please proceed with caution along all park access roads.
Facilities will reopen when conditions are considered safe.
