Work includes removal of existing water main, temporary above-ground water lines, ramps to protect temporary pipeline where it crosses some residential driveways and roadways, installation of new water main, new water main connection, testing and commissioning of the new water main and removal of temporary water lines. 

As works may impact residential driveways, project works will include reinstatement of driveways affected. As far as possible, construction works will use non-destructive methods to cross driveways. All final driveways constructed by Council shall be to Council standard and be concrete. 
 

What to expect 

• Works will take place along Auckland Street, extending from Coon Street to Short Street. 
• Works will occur Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm.  
• Traffic impacts: At times, temporary traffic management measures will be in place.  
• Short-term water outages: Advance notice will be provided to impacted properties ahead of planned disruptions.  
• Noise and dust: Some noise, dust and vibration may occur during excavation and pipe installation, but measures will be taken to minimise inconvenience.  
• Pedestrian disruptions, please follow signage.
