These works are included in Council’s 2025/26 Capital Works program and will involve road rehabilitation, kerb and channel replacement and re-sealing of about 280m of McPherson Street, between James St and Hills St.
Kerb and channel in this area is deteriorating and is in need of replacement, to prevent moisture seepage under the road surface and to reduce on-going maintenance costs.
During construction, only one side of the road will be open to traffic.
At times, some brief disruptions to property access will also be experienced during minor works to driveways, road stabilisation and road sealing activities. - Commencing

WHAT TO EXPECT
Works are scheduled to occur from September to December 2025, site conditions and weather permitting.
- Works Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm.
- Some weekend work will be scheduled following removal of road material.
- Noise, vibration and dust from the work area is expected.
- Water trucks for dust suppression, as necessary.
- Machinery, equipment, vehicles and workers in the area.
- Partial road closure, traffic and pedestrian disruptions and traffic management.
- At times, brief property access disruptions.
- Reduced speed limit.
- Please plan for delays, drive to conditions and follow directions and signage in the area.
