A workshop on the basic principles of Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC), legislative and best practice requirements for builders/developers. Morning session 9am-12pm | Afternoon session 1pm-4pm
Gladstone Regional Council together with Strategic Environmental and Engineering Consulting (SEEC) are hosting a workshop on the basic principles of Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC), legislative and best practice requirements for builders/developers.
This workshop will use numerous real-world examples to highlight the principles and practices of ESC.
The same topics will be covered in both the morning and afternoon sessions. There are strictly 25 places available in each session and registrations are on a first come first serve basis so please RSVP as soon as possible.
The workshop will provide participants with the following:
- Understanding of why soil erosion is a significant environmental issue
- Appreciation of the legal requirements regarding erosion and sediment control
- Improved knowledge of the use and implementation of products and techniques for effective erosion and sediment control
- Knowledge of where to find best-practice guidance for erosion and sediment control products and techniques
- Increased ability to conduct an inspection of erosion and sediment controls on a site and assess potential issues.
About the presenter
Kel Sanson, Senior Environmental Consultant at SEEC is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and has significant on-ground construction environmental management experience. He is a former regulator for Ipswich City Council responsible for ESC compliance. Kel has worked on wind farm, pipeline, gas, mining, electricity, road and residential projects throughout Queensland, NSW and Tasmania.
