Work has involved construction of a new 560m long x 2m wide concrete footpath along one side of Hampton Drive.
This project is included in Council’s 2023/24 Capital Works program, and supports Council’s Pedestrian and Cycle Strategy, providing cyclists and pedestrians with a safe and dedicated pathway, reducing the need to share the roadway with motorists. - Commencing

To complete this footpath project, upcoming work will involve installation of a raised priority crossing section at the Latrobe St/Hampton Dr intersection to provide greater pedestrian connectivity for the community and improve pedestrian safety in the area.

Latrobe St/Hampton Dr intersection
Temporary part road closure, traffic changes and detours:
- Friday 26 and Saturday 27 April: Works, including minor earthworks, construction of new crossing, installation of signage and line-marking.
To keep our community and workers safe, temporary part road closure of a section of Latrobe St (between the Hampton Dr and Madigan Rd intersections) will be necessary. Some local traffic only access restrictions will apply with detours for general traffic around the work site.
What to expect
- Works between Friday and Saturday, 6am-6pm.
- Noise and vibration can be expected from the project site.
- Some traffic disruptions including detours.
- Temporary part road closure of Latrobe Street near the Hampton Drive intersection.
- Detours around the immediate work area.
- Local traffic only access for Latrobe St residents within the immediate work area - access and exit Latrobe St near the Madigan Rd intersection.
- Traffic management at all times.
- More traffic may be experienced on streets along the detour routes.
- Please plan for delays, changed road conditions and detours.
