In it’s 28th year, the 1770 Festival in 2020 commemorates the 250th anniversary of the landing of Cook and the HMB Endeavour crew, on the shores of what is now the town of Seventeen Seventy.
Extending the celebrations to a 26 day period, we are showcasing our towns of Seventeen Seventy and Agnes Water, so you can experience all we have to offer in this beautiful part of the world.
Our annual festival weekend is on 22nd to 24th May, with the Re-enactment of Cook’s landing being moved to Sunday morning 24th May, as it is the actual date of the landing in the year 1770.
The final weekend of our celebrations will see the replica HMB Endeavour sail into Bustard Bay on 30th May for an overnight anchorage (weather permitting) in the same spot Cook and his crew, anchored in the year 1770.
With plenty on offer for everyone, we will roll out our full program in the coming months. From our usual favourites to exciting new additions there will be something to wet your appetite, so save the dates and endeavour to be here!
