Gladstone Region - Public Holiday

Next date: Monday, 10 August 2026 | 06:00 AM to 07:00 PM

GRC offices, Rural Transaction Centres, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, Gladstone Regional Libraries, Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct, Gladstone Region Neighbourhood Centre, and Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) (including Box Office) will be closed. Reopening on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.

Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens, Benaraby Landfill, and waste transfer stations will remain open.

Bin collection will take place as per a normal Monday.

Residents will still be able to access all of Council’s online services, including the GECC website.

Normal office hours will resume on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.

The Gladstone Region Public Holiday aligns with the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka).

The Queensland Government has a gazetted list of show holiday dates, with many Local Government Areas surrounding the Gladstone Region also recognising the Royal Queensland Show as their show holiday date.

Some schools in the North Coast region (e.g. Discovery Coast) may observe the Bundaberg Show Day as their public holiday, with dates varying by school.
