Notification of weather damage works – Beaumont Park Weir, Clinton

On display until 04 January 2027, 05:00 PM

Gladstone Regional Council advises that the heavy rainfall received from 7-9 March has caused structural damage to the upper weir at Beaumont Park, Clinton. There is a sewer main embedded into the weir and the upper basin needs to be lowered to reduce the hydraulic loading on the weir.

Works to pump the water will commence from Monday, 23 March 2026.

Works will involve:

  • Using a pump to take water from the top basin and discharge it into the adjoining lower basin to relieve pressure of the damaged weir and upper bank of the the weir for inspection

  • The water pumping will be managed to protect local wildlife, including turtles, fish and birdlife.

Works will occur during standard daytime operating hours only (no night works are planned).

Activities may generate some noise during the day. All measures will be taken to minimise disruption to residents in the surrounding area.
