The community is invited to come together for a Welcome to Country and Flag Raising Ceremony in recognition of NAIDOC Week, honouring the enduring cultures, contributions and connections of First Nations peoples.
While the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags are flown year-round, this ceremony provides an opportunity to respectfully acknowledge and reaffirm Gladstone Regional Council’s ongoing commitment to First Nations peoples and communities.
The ceremony will include a Welcome to Country and reflections shared by First Nations Elders, along with a speech from Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett.
All are welcome to attend – no RSVPs necessary.
