Free Tax Help appointments offered to eligible residents

Do you need help lodging your tax return?

If you earn $70,000 a year or less and need a hand, the ATO’s Tax Help program is for you!

Created to help eligible residents submit their tax return this year, this service, facilitated by the Australian Tax Office (ATO), is run by trained tax help volunteers. 

They can assist you face-to-face, online, or by phone, with appointments available on Thursdays between 9am and 3pm. 

Appointments available from 23 July 2026 to 8 October 2026.

Residents wishing to use the service are encouraged to create a myGov account and link it to the ATO at www.ato.gov.au before their Tax Help appointment. 

Eligibility criteria for the program can also be found on the ATO website.
