Planned remediation works at Council’s Castle Tower Building at the Boyne Tannum Community Centre (BTCC) are underway.
The works include internal mould remediation, undertaken in accordance with hygienist recommendations and WorkSafe Queensland mould management guidelines, along with source identification and rectification relating to water ingress and inadequate ceiling‑cavity ventilation.
These activities form part of the full roof replacement to prevent recurrence and extend the asset’s lifecycle.
Pedestrian access
Pedestrian access from Chapple Court will be redirected to the pathway adjacent to the Heron Room and the perimeter pathway around the BTCC will remain open.
Vehicular access
The Castle Tower Building car park and the adjacent pathway will be cordoned off to allow safe contractor access and material deliveries.
Please follow all signage and avoid restricted zones if moving in the area.
Intermittent noise and contractor movement should be expected.
Spotters will be in place during delivery windows and when machinery is operating near the exclusion zones - please follow their directions.
