Young People interested in joining the Gladstone Region Youth Council are encouraged to apply to serve in 2027.

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said as a Youth Councillor, you will represent young people, advise Gladstone Regional Council on local issues and advocate for community change.

“Youth Council members are encouraged to share their ideas and provide feedback and recommendations on issues affecting young people,” Mayor Burnett said.

“Applications are open until Monday 12 October and I encourage anyone within the region to apply, not just young people within the Gladstone area.”

Membership is open to young people aged between 15 and 25 years including those that are turning 15 within the first six months of the Youth Council term and reside in the Gladstone Region.

Travel assistance can be provided to Youth Council members to support their participation, while online tools such as video conferencing can also be used for members to dial in to meetings.
