Variety of events on offer during Seniors Month 2026

Queensland Seniors Month is just around the corner with more than 25 different events for seniors to enjoy in the Gladstone Region throughout October.

The purpose of Seniors Month is to celebrate our more experienced Queenslanders and their ongoing contribution to the state whether as volunteers or in the workforce, community leaders or carers, grandparents, or advocates.

Mayor Matt Burnett said the Gladstone Region’s Seniors Month calendar of events is aimed at people aged 55 years or above.

“Seniors Month is a fantastic opportunity to connect with each other, learn new skills or brush up on old ones, so take a look at the calendar and see what’s on offer,” Mayor Burnett said.

“The calendar offers a range of social events including a Mad Hatter’s tea party, community lunches, ballroom dancing and other celebrations, plus a region-wide lineup of free or low-cost creative workshops – such as incense-making, painting and mosaics – and low-impact fitness options like golf clinics, yoga, Tai Chi and gymnastics.

“It also features learning opportunities like tech help sessions, native bee and honey-tasting tours, and local history tours.”

Seniors Month also includes the Our Priceless Past exhibition on display at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum until Saturday, 14 November 2026, and the sold-out Morning Melodies show What’s New Pussycat? at Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre.
