A record amount of funds will be split between three amazing local beneficiaries following the 2025 Santos GLNG Mayor’s Charity Ball held at the GECC last month.
A whopping $147,529.64 was raised at the 17 May event, with the 454 people in attendance digging deep to raise much needed funds for Communities of Gladstone Supporting Youth, Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club and Zonta Club of Gladstone.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett was very pleased with the amount of funds raised, eclipsing the 2023 Santos GLNG Mayor’s Charity Ball by more than $24,000.
“What a fantastic result for our beneficiaries – Communities of Gladstone Supporting Youth, Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club and Zonta Club of Gladstone – who will receive more than $49,000 each to assist them in continuing to deliver their invaluable service to our region,” Mayor Burnett said.
“I want to thank our major sponsor Santos GLNG who have been onboard since the beginning, plus all the other sponsors who support this fantastic event.
“I’d also like to acknowledge Council’s Events Team, the Mayor’s Ball Committee, volunteers and GECC staff for once again hosting a memorable night that was enjoyed by all.”
The next Mayor’s Charity Ball will be held in 2027 with beneficiaries to be announced next year.
