Gladstone Regional Council and Gladstone Today are proud to announce the Christmas Lights Trail is back to brighten up the region’s streets, with entries to this year’s competition now open.

Residents and business owners decorate their homes or businesses and register their address to enter the competition between now and 3 December 2025, with a public voting period open from 9am on Thursday 6 November until 9am, Friday 26 December.

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Council will join forces with Gladstone Today to publish a map of the Christmas Lights, based off the entries submitted via Council’s Conversations website.

“Council will populate the map into Google Maps and number the streets to form the ultimate Christmas driving guide to be published in Gladstone Today’s 11 December edition,” Mayor Burnett said.

“The map will lead you to the best lit Christmas streets in the region.”

Mayor Burnett said there will be two prizes up for grabs this year – People’s Choice and Mayor’s Choice – with prizes provided by Gladstone Today.

“There will also be a ‘list only’ category for those wishing to have their address added to the trail, but not be eligible for a prize,” he said.

“The competition was well received by the community last year and the aim is to grow even bigger and brighter in 2025, so get creative decorate your house, balcony or front yard.”

Council will provide ‘Vote for Me’ corflutes for entrants to install at the front of their property, these will be available for collection by the entrant at Council Rural Transaction Centres or Offices during office hours.
