Since 1955, the Benaraby Progress Association has been a cornerstone of local pride, connection, and creativity. It’s more than a committee—it’s a movement of volunteers, makers, and dreamers working together to uplift Benaraby.

What We Do

  • Weekly Old-Time Dances: Every Friday night at the Benaraby Hall.
  • All ages welcome, supper included.
  • Monthly Progress Meetings: Held on the third Thursday of each month—open to all who care about Benaraby’s future.
  • Community Hall Hire: A fully accessible venue available for community use (excluding private parties).
  • Advocacy & Fundraising: Liaising with council, securing grants, and raising funds for upgrades and community initiatives.

Events We Host

  • Makers Market: A celebration of handcrafted goods and local talent. From jewelry to home décor, it’s a treasure trove of creativity.
  • Thrifted Threads Market: A sustainable fashion fiesta featuring pre-loved clothing, accessories, and upcycled gems. Perfect for eco-conscious shoppers and style hunters.
  • Benaraby Community Garage Sale: A town-wide treasure hunt where locals sell, swap, and share. Great for bargain lovers and community mingling.
  • Benaraby Country Charity Ball  While not a market, it’s a marquee event that blends elegance with generosity—raising funds for local causes in true country style
  • Christmas Ham Wheel: Spin the wheel for a chance to win a juicy ham or other prizes
  • Lake Awoonga Adventure Race: The Lake Awoonga Adventure Race (LAAR) is a high-energy, family-friendly event that turns the stunning natural landscape of Lake Awoonga into a thrilling outdoor playground. It’s a signature experience that blends adrenaline, teamwork, and community spirit.
