Dawson Highway, Calliope
Shared path construction works are planned along about a 170m section of Dawson Highway, Calliope, extending from the Welsh Street cul-de-sac to the Dawson Highway underpass at the rail corridor to provide a connecting link to existing footpath.
This project is included in our Capital Works program and supports Council's Pedestrian and Cycle Strategy, providing cyclists and pedestrians with a safe and dedicated pathway, reducing the need to share the roadway with motorists.
Works until late November 2026, site conditions and weather permitting, will be delivered by Council's roads crew and will involve construction of a 2.5m wide, concrete shared path.
At times there may be some brief interruptions to some property access within the work area. Impacted properties can anticipate direct contact from Council construction personnel before any works that affect current driveways.
Please use the above information as a guide only. Works are subject to weather and on-site conditions. Due to the nature of construction projects, planned work may need to be deferred or varied due to unforeseen circumstances.
