Council would like to advise stakeholders that the Matthew Flinders (Marina) Bridge on Bryan Jordan Drive will be closed to vehicular and marine traffic on Friday, 3 April 2026, from 6.45am. Reopening from 11am.
Council offices (including Gladstone Region Pound) will be closed over the Easter weekend. Benaraby Landfill and our Transfer Stations will remain open. Bin collection will take place as normal on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
We can confirm that Santa has booked two trucks on Christmas Eve to deliver lollies to the kids of Calliope/River Ranch starting at 3pm, Wednesday, 24/12/2025.
The 2025 Santa run is proudly put on by the service men and women of the Calliope Urban Auxiliary and Rural Fire Service.
We are starting at the OOM service station end of Calliope, moving up to Silverdale end as quickly as we can.
We are all volunteering our time for this service and are away from our families on Christmas Eve, so please be patient.
We can’t give you time estimates given the nature of the run, but we will get to you as soon as we can.
Keep an ear out for the sirens as you will hear us coming!!
