Public Holiday - Easter Weekend

Gladstone Regional Council is advising residents of its venue and facility operating hours during the Easter long weekend. 

Urgent phone enquiries will be taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on (07) 4970 0700.

Administration Offices and Depots 

• Council’s Administration Offices will close at 5pm on Thursday, 2 April and reopen on Tuesday, 7 April. 
• Depots and Rural Transaction Centres will also close on Thursday, 2 April and reopen on Tuesday, 7 April, as per normal hours. 
• Mount Larcom Rural Transaction Centre – including Mount Larcom Post Office – will close at 5pm on Thursday, 2 April and resume normal hours on Tuesday, 7 April. 

Transfer Stations and Landfill 

• Benaraby Landfill will run on normal hours. 
• Transfer Stations and Landfills will also run on normal hours except for Good Friday (closed). 
• Tip Shops at Benaraby and Gladstone Transfer Station will run on normal hours.
• Bin Collection Day will still take place on all public holidays, including Good Friday and Easter Monday. 

Facilities

• The Calliope, Miriam Vale, Mount Larcom and Agnes Water libraries will close at 5pm (Gladstone at 5.45pm and Boyne Island at 5.30pm) on Thursday, 2 April and resume normal hours on Tuesday, 7 April.

• Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum will close at 4.30pm on Thursday, 2 April and resume normal hours on Tuesday, 7 April. 
• Council’s Pound will close at 5pm on Thursday, 2 April and resume its appointment-only process from Tuesday, 7 April. 
• Tondoon Botanic Gardens is open every day (except Good Friday) from 7am-5.30pm. 
• Council’s Cemeteries will be available for vehicle and/or pedestrian access (depending on facility) throughout the Easter long weekend.
  • The gates to Port Curtis, Calliope and Boyne Tannum Memorial Parklands will be open to vehicles and pedestrians between 8am-6pm during the Easter long weekend.
  • Funeral services will be unavailable during the Easter long weekend. 
• Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct will close at 4.30pm on Thursday, 2 April and resume normal hours on Tuesday, 7 April. 
• Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (venue and Box Office) will be closed at 4.30pm, Thursday, 2 April and will reopen at 9am, Tuesday, 7 April. 
  • Bookings to events can still be made via www.gladstoneentertainment.com. 
• Gladstone Aquatic Centre will open 9am to 5pm during the Easter long weekend, except for Good Friday. Mount Larcom Swimming Pool is closed indefinitely.
