During this time, the Byellee Wildlife Reserve will be temporarily closed to the public while feral deer management activities are completed.
We request that the community adhere to any notification signs during this period.
The program is required to reduce the risk of feral deer colliding with traffic on Dawson Highway, Don Young Drive, and Red Rover Road, and the impacts on the biodiversity values of the Byellee wetlands.
Trained professionals contracted by Council will conduct measures to manage the increasing feral deer population.
Please be aware that you may occasionally hear the sound of discharging firearms during this period. Your cooperation is vital as we maintain a balanced ecosystem and protect wildlife and motorists.
