Temporary Closure – Mount Larcom Swimming Pool

On display until 30 June 2026, 12:00 PM

Mount Larcom Swimming Pool was opened in 1971 and has been serving the community for 55 years.  A regular maintenance program has been in place, and Council has invested in improving the pool’s usable life for several years.

Investigations have identified that the pool has a significant leak that is impacting the surrounding environment. To avoid further impact, the pool has been drained, and the facility has been temporarily closed.

Council is currently outworking a solution to this issue; however, the pool will unfortunately not reopen before the end of the swimming season on 30 April 2026.

The next steps for Council include options analysis and decision-making for the longevity of this community asset.

With the options being assessed and the anticipated complexity of the repair works, it is too early to determine how long remediation works will take or to know when the pools may reopen.

Council appreciates the community’s patience and understanding while these pool repair issues are addressed.

Council will provide another update in June 2026
