Australian Defence Force personnel will conduct military training in and around Gladstone from 3-19 July.
Exercise Austral Shield 2026 will be conducted during the day and night.
You may hear and see military vehicles, watercraft, aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as military personnel carrying weapons and using blank ammunition.
You should not be alarmed if you hear or see any of the above.
Defence is working closely with Gladstone Regional Council, Queensland Police Service, Gladstone Ports Corporation and other government and non-government organisations to keep you informed of what is occurring and when it is occurring.
This essential training is vital to maintain Australia’s military capability.
We thank you for supporting this training and our Defence personnel.
Should you become concerned about any activity during this training exercise, please contact 1800 233 3937 (1800 ADF Exercise) – this number will be monitored until 22 July.
