Gladstone Souths Sports Club

Established 1969 – Home of the Mighty Magpies

Founded in 1969, Souths Hockey Club is a proud, loyal and family-focused club with a long tradition of developing players and building lifelong friendships.

We field teams across all divisions — from our youngest U7 Rookies through to competitive A Grade Senior teams — providing clear pathways for participation, development and performance at every level.

At Souths, we are more than a club — we are a community.

We welcome new players, families, volunteers and supporters at any time throughout the season.

Where We Play

All training sessions and home games are held at:

Gladstone Hockey Association Fields
Rigby Park, Dawson Highway, Gladstone
(Opposite the Puma 24-hour service station)

Our facilities provide a safe and welcoming environment for players, families and supporters.

Training Schedule

Every Wednesday

Rookies (U7/U9)
4:30 pm – 5:15 pm

U12 Juniors
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

U16 Juniors
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Senior Women
5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

Senior Men
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Training is structured to support skill development, teamwork and game readiness across all age groups.

Game Days

  • Rookey 7s & 9s – Saturday mornings

  • U12 to Senior Grades – Some Friday evening fixtures, with the majority played on Saturdays

Game schedules are confirmed through team communications and club updates.

Season Information

Our season runs from March to September each year.

  • Season Commencement: 7th March 2026
