Botanic Gardens month

Botanic Gardens month (1-31 May) is an annual celebration to shed light on the role of plants in our lives and the important work botanic gardens undertake every day to conserve them for future generations.

For the month of May, Botanic Gardens Australia and New Zealand Inc (BGANZ) #PlantLoversChallenge encourages everyone to share their love of and passion for plants by posting photos, short videos, stories, poetry, songs or other creative pursuits, to social media with a short message about what plants mean to you and how plants influence your life, using hashtags #PlantLoversChallenge and #BotanicGardensDay.

Birthday Week

To celebrate Tondoon’s Birthday Week activities will be planned the week of 20-26 October, ending with the opening of the new Bonsai House.

Ecofest

Council is calling on market stalls and businesses to be involved in the upcoming Ecofest event. Ecofest will take place on Sunday, 7 June 2026, 9am – 3pm at the Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens.

Applications close 9am Monday 27 April, 2026.

Introduction to Bonsai

Come learn all the essentials on starting and maintaining your own Bonsai with our experienced bonsai horticulturalist, Beau.
