Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) advised that Bush Heritage will be conducting a planned burn (weather permitting) from the 1 - 2 of July 2026 on the northern boundary of Deepwater National Park.
Firefighters and machinery may be working along roadsides in the vicinity of Springs Beach Road, Wreck Rock Road and Anderson Way. For your safety and that of firefighters, please slow down and follow all directions and signs.
During the planned burn, Wreck Rock Road between Springs Rd and Flat Rock Day Use is closed to public access. Wreck Rock and Middle Rock campgrounds remain accessible from the north.
Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Agnes Water, Baffle Creek and Deepwater areas. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.

Please observe all signage, barriers, and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
Facilities will reopen when conditions are considered safe.
