Gladstone Regional Council together with Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) are seeking beneficiaries for next year’s Santos GLNG Mayor’s Charity Ball.

The 2027 Santos GLNG Mayor’s Charity Ball will be held at GECC on Saturday 22 May, marking the ninth Mayor’s Charity Ball since the inaugural event was held in 2011 to support those affected by the 2010/11 Queensland floods.

In total, more than $763,000 has been raised for charity since 2011, with Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett hoping to significantly add to that figure in 2027.

“We had a record-breaking amount of funds raised at the 2025 Santos GLNG Mayor’s Charity Ball with more than $147,000 raised for three local beneficiaries and it would be fantastic to eclipse that figure next year,” Mayor Burnett said.

Mayor Burnett confirmed that Zonta Club of Gladstone will once again be one of those beneficiaries, continuing a long tradition of supporting the organisation that supports local women and girls.

“Zonta Club of Gladstone raise awareness and support local women and children through its International Woman's Day events, scholarships, chaplaincy programs, breast cancer cushion workshops and so much more,” he said.

“The Zonta Gladstone team do a fantastic job, and the more funds and awareness we can raise for them not only empowers local women and girls, but also contributes to making our region a better place.

“All past beneficiaries have done great things for our region and I’m looking forward to seeing who we can assist at next year’s ball.”
