Council launches new and improved development application tracking

Searching development applications online has never been easier with Council launching Development.i – a new and improved development application tracking software.

This new customer focussed system will replace the current PD Online system and has launched effective Monday 3 August.

Development.i provides people with easier access to past and current Development Application (DA) details and basic property information for the Gladstone Regional Council area.

It is designed so people can stay informed about what is happening in their area, gather information to help prepare applications, make a submission or comment on a development.

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Development.i can be used to find development applications dating back more than 20 years.

“The new system allows people to search both current and past development applications that have been assessed and managed by Gladstone Regional Council,” Mayor Burnett said.

“You can also register your details in Development.i so you can be notified of development applications lodged in your area.

“Initial feedback on the new system has been positive with many people commenting on its ease of use compared to PD Online.”

What else can Development.i do?

• Information about siting variation requests submitted to Council since 1 December 2021 are also available. These are requests where Council provides advice on certain building applications assessed by a private building certifier.

• It can also be used to make a submission or comment on certain types of applications – simply click on ‘Make a Submission or Comment’ in the top right-hand corner of the application details screen.

• Development.i is not a substitute for an official Council property search. If you are buying, selling, developing or building on a property, you may still need to request official Council searches, such as planning, building or flood information searches.

• Building Applications and Plumbing permits are not available at this stage.
