Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) are planning to conduct a Pest Management Control Program utilising ground shooting techniques to target feral pigs at Curtis Island National Park, Conservation Park and State Forest from Monday, 9 March to Frida,y 13 March 2026 (weather permitting) as part of the conservation management program for the park. These measures are being implemented to help protect native plants and wildlife from the harmful effects of introduced plants and animals.
To ensure the safety of the public, no access is permitted to the protected areas North or West of Joey Lees Campground and Access road, or South of Yellow Patch Campground during the above dates.
Access will remain open along the main access tracks to Joey Lees Campground, North Turtle Street Day Use Area, Turtle Street Campground, Connor Bluff Day use Area, Graham Creek Boat Ramp, Ship Hill Lookout, and Multi-use Trails.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
