Wastewater flow meter replacement
Gladstone Regional Council would like to advise that night works will occur nearby to replace the flow meter infrastructure, which is part of the local wastewater network in Glen Eden.
Works are planned to commence at the Sewer Pump Station located off Billabong Drive, Glen Eden, from 8am, Tuesday 24 February until 11am, Wednesday 25 February 2026.
Works will involve:
- Removal of the existing flow meter and installation of a new unit
- Commissioning, calibration, and integration with the existing telemetry/SCADA system
- Use of electric light towers, a vacuum truck, and hand/battery-operated tools intermittently.
Late Works
Council has approved an exemption to carry out necessary vacuum truck works outside normal construction hours to ensure no impact on customers' wastewater service.
This work will be conducted in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1994 noise guidelines.
To allow safe and efficient access for the vacuum truck and other equipment, residents are requested to keep neighbourhood roads clear of vehicles or other obstructions before and during the works.
Activities may generate some noise during the night. All measures will be taken to minimise disruption to residents in the surrounding area.
We appreciate your understanding while these essential maintenance works are carried out to enable continued safe and reliable operation of the wastewater network.
If you have any questions about this project, please contact Council on (07) 4970 0700.
Please use this information as a guide only. Due to the nature of the work and unforeseen delays, work may vary.
