As 2026 begins to ramp up, community groups, sporting clubs and organisations are encouraged to register or double check their details within Council’s handy online Community Directory.

It’s the time of year where many traditional winter sports sign-on days are approaching faster than a winger running down the sideline at Marley Brown Oval.

Whether you’re a junior looking to play sport alongside your school mates, or a veteran looking to wind back the clock, there are plenty of sports or recreational activities to participate in within the Gladstone Region.

But how do potential players know who to contact? Or how does a club advertise its contact details?

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said utilising Council’s Community Directory is one of the best ways for your group to connect your services to the community.

“The Community Directory was updated last year with existing listings receiving instructions on how to join the refreshed service and how to add a new listing in the directory,” Mayor Burnett said.

“The directory is easy to use, mobile-friendly and is a fantastic way to position your club, group or organisation to attract new members.

“If you’ve never used it before, registering your group or club is easy with instructions available on Council’s website.”

Search for ‘Community Directory’ on Council's website and follow the steps to add your group or service. Alternatively, click here.
