Council’s Corporate Plan (2018-2023) maps a clear direction towards creating a strong fabric of community connectedness, lifestyle and enhanced liveability in the Gladstone Region.
Philip Street Communities & Families Precinct has been designed to strengthen Gladstone’s community and social service system by the clustering of community facilities, providing appropriately designed and connected facilities, spaces to improve and enhance service delivery and community outcomes.
Philip Street Communities & Families Precinct recognises the central role communities play in supporting and protecting good mental health and wellbeing through fostering social inclusion, connectedness, and enabling access to resources and services.
Preliminary on-site works will commence Monday 19 August 2019 which marks the beginning of construction of the Philip Street Communities & Families Precinct site.
Council’s Parks staff will be undertaking the works by way of bagging and rehoming numerous Grass Trees which will be replanted on the Precinct site at a later stage of the project.
Council will be engaging with Gidarjil Development Organisation to ensure our cultural heritage obligations are met while undertaking these works.
Next stage of construction is due to continue later in 2019.
