Project update

The northern side of the park remains closed while remediation work occurs.

Public access is open to the carpark, amenities and playground.

Temporary beach access which was established during bridge works is no longer in use, with installation of a boundary fence.

Council was successful in its application for full external funding via the Queensland Reconstruction Authority for the bridge project with this joint funding provided by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

What’s next?

Beach access renewal work is separate project work which will occur in coming weeks to replace existing timber infrastructure with a recycled composite material.
