Sport & Recreation Operations
Status: Round 2 opens 1 March 2020
Sport & Recreation Operations funding is to provide support for the operation of the region’s sporting organisations and active recreation groups (e.g., equipment purchases, training and education, participation initiatives, programs that contribute to health and vitality, and planning).
The Sport & Recreation Operations objectives are:
- Provide opportunities to increase skills and knowledge through education and training
- Planning initiatives to enhance club sustainability
- Purchase new sporting equipment
- Grow membership base by supporting club participation activities
- Develop programs that contribute to health and vitality of the community.
Funding Rounds
Applications for the 2019/20 financial year are offered in two rounds:
Round 1
- Opens 1 August 2019
- Closes 31 August 2019
Round 2
- Opens 1 March 2020
- Closes 31 March 2020
Projects must be able to be completed within six months
Funding Available
Applicants can apply up to a maximum of $1,200 (ex GST).
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for Sport & Recreation Operations funding, the organisation must:
- A not-for-profit sporting organisation/active recreation group based in the Gladstone Regional Council area
- Incorporated
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or complete and attach a “Statement by a supplier” form
- Financially solvent
- Allow any member of the public to become a member of the organisation/group
- Sport and/or active recreation is a primary focus.

Performing Arts
Status: Round 2 closes 29 February 2020
Performing Arts funding is to provide funding assistance to community organisations that coordinate events that enhance and showcase the local performing arts sector.
The Performing Arts objectives are:
- Support organisations that stage public programs/performances that showcase local performing art groups and performers
- To ensure that activities are to the benefit of the local community and encourage community learning and participation
- Introduce new and innovative elements of performing arts as well as embracing the traditional performance practices
- Generate an increase in visitor numbers to the region.
Funding Rounds
Applications for the 2019/20 financial year are offered in two rounds:
Round 1
- Opens 1 August 2019
- Closes 31 August 2019
For projects/events held December 2019 to May 2020
Round 2
- Opens 1 January 2020
- Closes 29 February 2020
For projects/events held June 2020 to November 2020
Funding Available
Applicants can apply up to a maximum of $2,500 (ex GST).
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for Performing Arts funding, the organisation must:
- Not-for-profit community organisation based in or servicing the Gladstone Regional Council area (other than a sporting club)
- Incorporated
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or complete and attach a “Statement by a supplier” form
- Financially solvent.

Historical & Heritage Museums
Status: Currently there are no rounds open
The Historical and Heritage Museums funding is to support community organisations that are custodians of historical/heritage collections and/or museums for public benefit.
The Historical & Heritage Museums objectives are:
- Preserve historical collections for future generations through appropriate facilities and controlled environments and effective preservation techniques and programs.
- Create community awareness and engagement of the historical/heritage buildings, museums, collections, exhibitions and programs.
- Create an environment which presents the history and culture using innovative and imaginative exhibitions and programs.
- Generate an increase in visitor numbers to the region.
Funding Rounds
Applications for the 2019/20 financial year are only offered in one round:
Round 1
- Opens 1 August 2019
- Closes 31 August 2019
Projects must be able to be completed within twelve months
Funding Available
Applicants can apply up to a maximum of $5,000 (ex GST).
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for Historical & Heritage Museums funding, the organisation must:
- Not-for-profit community organisation based in or servicing the Gladstone Regional Council area (other than a sporting club)
- Control and manage a publicly accessible museum and/or collection
- Agree to take curatorial advice from the Manager & Curator and/or Heritage Team at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum
- Incorporated
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or complete and attach a “Statement by a supplier” form
- Financially solvent.

Charity Waste Tipping Waiver
Status: Open all year round
The Charity Waste Tipping Waiver funding is to relieve charitable organisations that accept pre-loved household belongings from the burden of having to process and dispose of general waste deposited at their facilities.
The Charity Waste Tipping Waiver objective is to support charitable organisations that accept pre-loved household belongings.

Applications for the 2019/20 financial year are only offered in one round:
Round 1
- Opens 1 July 2019
- Open all year round.
Funding Available
Applicants can apply up to a maximum of $1,000 (ex GST) credit.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for Charity Waste Tipping Waiver funding, the organisation must:
- Australian registered charity
- Offer a publicly available donations bin or equivalent that allows public gifting of pre-loved clothing and other household items
- Undertake some form of recycling or goods donations
- Responsible for costs associated with collection and transportation of the waste material to the waste disposal facility
- Issued with an exemption code from the Department of Environmental Science
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or complete and attach a “Statement by a supplier” form
- Financially solvent.

Community Hall Subsidy
Status: Open all year round
The Community Hall Subsidy funding is to assist with ongoing maintenance of community halls in the Gladstone Regional Council area.
The Community Hall Subsidy objective is to provide fee relief for those organisations responsible for paying Council rates and insurance for the community hall, and to assist with ongoing maintenance.

Applications for the 2019/20 financial year are offered in two rounds:
Round 1
- Opens 1 July 2019
- Open all year round.
Projects must be able to be completed within twelve months.
Funding Available
Applicants can apply up to a maximum of $1,500 (ex GST).
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for Community Hall Subsidy funding, the organisation must:
- A not-for-profit community organisation based in and servicing the Gladstone Regional Council area (other than a sporting club)
- Own and/or manage a community hall within the Gladstone Regional Council area that is hired out to the community (as distinct from a room for hire within a larger building)
- Incorporated
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or complete and attach a “Statement by a supplier” form
- Be financially solvent.
